Project Navigator
UPDATED 2026 The Project Navigator is the app's main screen. Open it from Apps → Project Charter.
It used to offer three views. It now has nine screens, split between working with the portfolio and configuring it, reached from a sidebar on the left.
The sidebar
Section | Screen | For |
|---|---|---|
PORTFOLIO | What needs attention today: stat cards, at-risk projects, upcoming deadlines. | |
PORTFOLIO | The table. Filter, sort, group, bulk edit, export. | |
PORTFOLIO | Columns by status, team, priority or health; drag to change status. | |
PORTFOLIO | The delivery schedule, with today marked. | |
PORTFOLIO | Charts, plus the widgets you build yourself. | |
CONFIGURE | The properties defined for the site, and how widely they are filled in. | |
CONFIGURE | What the three Jira dashboard gadgets do and how to add them. | |
CONFIGURE | Workflow condition, validator, post function, endpoint and custom fields. | |
CONFIGURE | Your date format and hidden projects. |
At the foot of the sidebar sit Get started, Give feedback and How it works. A red badge next to Overview counts the projects that need attention, so it is visible from wherever you are.
Things that behave the same everywhere
Filters are shared. Filter in List and Insights reports on the same set — the charts say which filters are active.
Clicking a project opens the same drawer in List, Board and Overview.
Health is derived from status, end date and issue progress; it is never typed in.
Your columns, date format, hidden projects, saved filters and widgets are remembered against your Atlassian account.
Permissions
Every screen is filtered to the projects you may see. See Permission Management.
