Permission Management

The Project Charter app in Jira allows administrators to manage user permissions for viewing and editing project properties. We provide two groups of permissions: Project permissions can be granted for specific projects, while global permissions affect all projects.

Project Permissions

If a user has only the Project Charter View Project Permission for a project, they can view the project properties but cannot edit them. However, if they have the Project Charter Edit Project Permission for a project, they can view and edit the project properties in all screens of the app. Project permissions can be arranged through Project Settings → Permissions.

Global Permissions

When a user has global Project Charter View All Projects permission, they can view the properties of all projects, but when they have Project Charter Edit All Projects permission, they can edit the properties of all projects. It is important to note that these permissions apply to all screens within the app, and administrators have the ability to grant and revoke permissions as needed. By managing user permissions, administrators can ensure that project properties are kept secure and only accessible to authorized individuals. Global permissions can be arranged through System → Global Permissions.
