User Manual
What's in this manual
Advanced User Manager for Jira is an admin console with a left sidebar. It opens on Overview. The sidebar is grouped into Manage (Overview, Jira users, External users, Activity & last seen) and Configure (User properties, Automation, Custom fields, Get started), with the theme switcher, Documentation & support and the version number in the footer. The pages below cover each area.
Every operation in the app requires Jira administrator permission. Non-admins see empty lists rather than an error message, which can look like a bug.
On the Jira users screen the Active / Inactive / All segmented control defaults to Active, so deactivated accounts are hidden until you switch it.
Getting started
How to generate an API token or organization API key - the two separate credentials the app uses, and why the organization API key must be created without scopes. Both are stored by the app and reused.
Managing User Properties - create, rename and delete the custom property definitions that power property columns, the Set properties drawer, CSV export, the workflow extensions and the External User Picker fields.
Managing users
Bulk Create Jira Users - bulk-create accounts from CSV using your personal Atlassian API token.
Deactivate/Activate Managed-Accounts - activate and deactivate managed accounts with the organization API key, including what the pre-check panel is telling you.
Bulk Group Operations - add users to groups or remove them from groups in bulk.
Track User Activity - last-seen columns, last-seen coverage and finding dormant accounts.
External users & customers
Bulk Create External Users - keep contacts outside your Jira licence in one list and store properties against them.
Bulk Importing External Users as Service Management Customers - "Add as customer" creates a Jira Service Management customer account and grants portal access on the service desk you choose, plus the limits on removing customers again.
Single/Multi External User Picker - the two custom field types for selecting external users on issues.
