To configure the Advanced Kanban Board screen, click on the " Settings" button located in the top-right corner.

Advanced Kanban Board main screen

In the Settings screen, you can make four different adjustments:

  1. JQL Filter

  2. Show Assignee/Reporter

  3. Hide Completed Issue on Board

  4. Displayed Statuses Per Issue Type

You can adjust these settings according to your requirements to tailor the board display to your liking. Additionally, don't forget to save your settings after making the adjustments. It is important to click on the "Save" button to ensure that your changes are applied. Let’s see how you can adjust these settings.

JQL Filter

This allows you to define a JQL (Jira Query Language) filter to customize the set of issues displayed on the board. By specifying specific criteria, you can filter and display relevant issues. If you do not override the existing JQL Filter settings, all issues of the current project are displayed on the board.

Please note that you can only use the “Advanced Kanban Board for Jira Cloud” for the issues within the project you are currently in. If you provide a JQL Filter that includes multiple projects or a different project, we handle it by appending "your-query AND (current-project-id)" at the end of the query to avoid any issues.

Show Assignee/Reporter

This setting allows you to customize whether you want the assignee or reporter to be displayed on the cards that show the issues. By enabling or disabling these settings, you can adjust the appearance of the information on the top of your issue cards.

Hide Completed Issues on Board

With this setting, you will be able to filter the completed issues on your board. There are four options available for this setting: "1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and Show All". By selecting your preferred option, you can achieve a more efficient board view by excluding the completed issues older than the chosen time frame. Alternatively, if you want to see all the issues, you can select "Show All" to display all the issues on your board.

Displayed Statuses Per Issue Type

With this setting, you can define separate statuses for each issue type and customize the statuses specifically for each issue type on your personalized board. This allows you to have customized statuses tailored to your specific needs for each issue type on your board.

At most six statuses can be displayed per issue type. You can configure which statuses to display from this page. By default, the first six statuses are taken as the columns of the board for issue type.

The number of statuses chosen affects the loading times of the boards. The less you choose, the faster the board loads.
