Board

When you first open the Board screen, you will be greeted with a blank slate similar to the image below. From here, you can select the issue types you want to see on the screen and make additions accordingly. However, don't worry, you don't have to make these settings every time you open the board screen. We save the final state of your settings for you, so they will be preserved when you revisit the board.

After selecting the issue types, if you haven't made any adjustments in the settings, by default, the board will display the first 6 statuses available in your Jira instance and show all the issues from your current project. This is the initial configuration that ensures a broad view of the issues on your board. If you wish to customize the displayed statuses or apply additional filters, you can make the necessary adjustments in the settings to refine the board according to your preferences.

Now we will list the features you can use on the board screen.

  1. Statuses: You can filter your screen based on the statuses available. Only the issues that match your selected statuses will be displayed.

  2. Assignees: You can filter your project based on the users available. Only the issues assigned to your selected assignee(s) will be displayed.

  3. Reporters: You can filter your project based on the users available. Only the issues reporter to your selected reporter(s) will be displayed.

Collapse Issue Types

If you want to quickly review other issue types without completely removing issue types from your board, you can narrow down the displayed issue types to achieve a more focused view.

Export Issues

If you want to export the issues on your board in PDF or Excel format, click on the "Export Issues" button located in the top right corner of your screen.

After clicking on the "Export Issues" button, you will be presented with two options as shown below. By clicking on "Export as PDF," you can download the issues in PDF format. By clicking on "Export as Excel," you can download your issues in Excel format.

In the image on the left below, there is a visual representation of the PDF file that you will have when you download the issues in PDF format. The image on the right shows an example of the content you will have when you download it in Excel format.

Please note that the exported files will organize and include the issues you see on your board. After applying filters, it will not retrieve all the issues from your entire project. If you want to export all the issues, remove all the filters you have applied.
