From which hierarchy should the parent be picked up?

To clarify, you need to determine whether the configurations you are making here are within the project hierarchies or within the global hierarchy found in the organizational chart app. Each project has its own hierarchy, and you need to decide which one you want to work with. To view the contents of the hierarchies, simply click on the hierarchy names. For detailed information about project hierarchies or the global hierarchy, click here.

Whose parent should be picked?

You have three options to select a user here. By choosing one of these options, you can determine which user will be selected:

  • User Triggering the Transition: This option allows you to select the user who triggers the transition you are editing. You can select the user from the chosen hierarchy and retrieve their parent.

  • Parent of the User Triggering the Transition: With this option, you can select the parent of the user who triggers the transition. It will select the parent's parent option from the selected hierarchy. To be more specific, you will be selecting the user who triggers the transition and then selecting their grandparent in the hierarchy.

  • User from Selected Field: When you click on this option, another field will appear that you need to select. Through the selected user field, you can select a user from the hierarchy and retrieve their parent.

Field to Copy

The selected fields can be either text fields or user select fields. If you choose a text field, you can retrieve the user's display name or account ID and populate the field with that information.
